Sunchasers Handle Picture Rocks, Snag 9-8 Win
|
The Sunrise Manor Sunchasers topped the Picture Rocks Raptors, 9-8, with youngster Kevin Lightfoot playing a key role. Lightfoot was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Sunchasers in the win. Tetsunori Arai picked up the win in relief. Jim Unknown took the loss for Picture Rocks. Cristofer Sanchez earned the save for Sunrise Manor, his 1st of the year.
Sunrise Manor used the timely hitting of Tony Medina to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sunchasers on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Sunrise Manor skipper .
Picture Rocks now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
