Thrashers Claim 7-2 Triumph
Haviland pitcher Adam Noland did his part in helping his team beat the Riverside Wolverines, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Noland yielded 2 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-4. Haviland has now won 4 games in a row.

Bob Mauser had a big 2-run home run for the Thrashers in the top of the first inning. With Haviland leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Gentry and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thrashers ahead, 4-0.

"We did a lot of things right," said Noland.
