The Haviland Thrashers and Juneau Sled Dogs played an entertaining game for Ballpark of Haviland patrons.

The Haviland Thrashers overcame a pretty good performance by Juneau third baseman Chris Norwood, beating the Sled Dogs, 6-5, at Ballpark of Haviland. Norwood slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Jamie Stuhr. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 9 and walked 0.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Thrashers catcher Brian Ortega hit a fastball from Juan Perez for a 2-run single. Just like that, Haviland was up, 2-1.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Ortega.
