The Buckeye Local Panthers beat the Corpus Christi Texans, 7-1, at Cincinnati Grounds. The win was due in part to third baseman Cody Dean, who went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Buckeye Local reliever Salvador Fonzarelli picked up the win, raising his record to 3-4. Robert Cortes was tagged with the loss. The Panthers raised their record to 22-39.
The Texans had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Panthers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Joe Dalton came to the plate. Dalton hit a 2-run double on a 1-2 fastball from Corpus Christi hurler Robert Cortes. It was Dalton's 2nd double of the year.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Dalton.
