Panthers Tag Wolverines with 4-0 Loss
|
Jose Moncion, who is tied for 10th in the SC with a 8.8 K/9 rate, pitched well, but the Riverside Wolverines still fell short, losing, 4-0, to the Buckeye Local Panthers at Wolverines Ballpark. Hector Sanchez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-2. Buckeye Local is now 11-51, Riverside 35-27.
Buckeye Local won the game in part because of Jordan Rivas. The second baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Panthers ahead, 4-0. For the game, Rivas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Rivas.
