Sunrise Manor Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Malay
The Haviland Thrashers overcame a pretty good performance by Sunrise Manor first baseman Chris Malay, beating the Sunchasers, 5-4, at Field of the Sunchasers. Malay slugged 2 home runs. The winner was Sueo Nakashima, who threw 111 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Picking up his 11th save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Edgar Ambrosio.

Haviland used a well-timed hit by Chris Huseman to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Thrashers ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Haviland manager Bill Mason.

Haviland has now won 6 straight, while the Sunchasers have lost 4 in a row.
