Cruz Blisters Jacksonville
The Juneau Sled Dogs stopped the Jacksonville Nationals by a score of 17-6 at Nationals Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Victor Cruz. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Cruz said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Cruz did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Nationals.

"Not much that I can say," offered Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Victor Cruz walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Dean dejong in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.

This season, Cruz is hitting at a .369 pace with 14 home runs, 46 RBIs and has scored 57 times.
