Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Towne
Juneau catcher Ben Towne was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 6. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Crystal Lake beat the Sled Dogs, 14-11. Getting the save was Masamichi Ono, his 1st. With the win, the Killers have a record of 19-29.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Killers sent 18-year-old shortstop Cesar Torres to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Crystal Lake on top, 10-8.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Killers manager Josh Lewis. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
