At Cincinnati Grounds, the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes and Buckeye Local Panthers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Buckeye Local Panthers beat the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes, 11-4, at Cincinnati Grounds. Jose Garcia was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. The 20-year old right fielder was a menace to Ft. Wayne all day. Jim Unknown, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1.

Garcia had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Panthers went on to win.
