Starting pitcher Matt Lavender pitched well enough to help the Jacksonville Nationals beat the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes, 6-5. The Jacksonville winning streak has reached 3 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bobby Sidener in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Gryder to win the game for Jacksonville. The home crowd went nuts.

Sidener described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
