Ft. Wayne parlayed a decent outing from starter Rick Hall into a solid win over the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers. The final score was 7-2. Ft. Wayne is now 33-10, Sunrise Manor 14-29.
Jose Saenz had a big 2-run double for the Earthquakes in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Ft. Wayne leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Luis Orosco, who is tied for 8th in the SC in strikeouts with 42, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 3-0.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Hall.
