Brown Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Captains Win, 6-4
|
Led by 21-year-old Jeff Brown, the Tulsa Captains downed the Jacksonville Nationals, 6-4. Brown hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Tulsa. Jim Unknown went 8.2 innings for Tulsa to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 6. His record improves to 1-0. The win makes Tulsa 6-34, nothing to write home about.
Brown had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Keith Kramer, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Captains a 5-1 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Brown.
"They beat us fair and square," Jacksonville skipper Zack Glomski said.
