Thrashers Upend Earthquakes, 4-0
|
Bobby Maestas, who leads the SC in wins with 6, never let the Earthquakes get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Thrashers to a win, 4-0. Jorge Solis collected save number 2. The winning continues for Haviland, with the latest triumph making it 8 straight.
Haviland used the hitting of Fernando Espindola to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Thrashers on top, 3-0. For the game, Espindola had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Bobby was able to execute his pitches," said Haviland manager Matt Conners. "Simple as that."
