Thrashers Overcome Great Performance by Brenner in Win
Bobby Brenner did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers from being beaten, 12-5, to the Haviland Thrashers at Field of the Sunchasers. Brenner hit 3 home runs. Chris Schreurs, the winner, goes to 3-2. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts over 5.1 innings. The Thrashers go to 21-12, putting them second in the Southern Conference East Division.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Thrashers sent 19-year-old designated hitter Juan Medrano to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Haviland on top, 5-3.

"I like our moxie," said Thrashers manager Matt Conners.
