Sled Dogs Suffer One-Run Loss at Chuluota
|
The Chuluota Imperials dealt the Juneau Sled Dogs a 5-4 loss at Imperials Ballpark. Takao Fujii was the star on offense. He belted 2 home runs. Kyle Young, who is tied for 5th in the SC in innings pitched with 33.2, was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Chuluota, with the win, is 8-22.
With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Jim Unknown had a game-changing hit. The Imperials designated hitter slammed a run-scoring single off Manny Martinez, making the score 5-2, Chuluota.
"I was a little disappointed," said Juneau manager Jordan Nolasco. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
