Jose Valdez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes from being beaten, 6-3, to the Chuluota Imperials at Imperials Ballpark. Valdez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Edgar Cuevas, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. The win puts Chuluota at 20-8.

In the bottom of the 2nd, Chuluota took the lead on a 2-run single by Nathan Miller. At the time, the Imperials were trailing 1-0, but Miller's hit with two outs against Ft. Wayne pitcher Shalom Bruin put them in front, 2-1.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Miller.
