Tight Tilt Goes to Imperials, 2-1
|
Sunrise Manor pitcher Dave Velez gave the Imperials all they could handle, but in the end, Chuluota left Field of the Sunchasers with a win, 2-1. Velez allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings. Joe Martinez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 5-0. Steve Sharkey closed the door for Chuluota, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Chuluota relied on the hitting of Jared Staley to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Imperials on top, 2-1. For the game, Staley had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
