Panthers Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
The 5-2 Haviland win over Buckeye Local was due largely to Bill Demers. The Thrashers designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win has Haviland at 17-10.
Haviland used the timely hitting of Danny Cruz to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thrashers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning never gets dull," said Demers.
