The Buckeye Local Panthers beat the San Bernardino Flight, 5-0, at Cincinnati Grounds. Buckeye Local first baseman Branden Kenney led the way. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever Brett Schoene picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Marco Zandbergen took the loss. Buckeye Local is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 8th win in 26 games.
The Panthers got a big at-bat from center fielder Danny Thompson. For the game, Thompson was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Buckeye Local a 2-0 lead.
