In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 0-0 tie, Ft. Wayne pinch hitter Colby Freese reached on an error by the third baseman, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Ft. Wayne on top, 1-0.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Freese. "And not try to do too much."
