The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes beat the Haviland Thrashers, 8-3. Ft. Wayne pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Edwin Montez led the way. The winner was Montez. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Bobby Pfau. Ft. Wayne, with the win, is a remarkable 18-5.

Justin Dawson had a big run-scoring double for the Earthquakes in the top of the third inning. With Ft. Wayne leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Pfau and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 2-0.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Montez.
