Led by Ben Riffe, the Riverside Wolverines defeated the Corpus Christi Texans, 8-6. Riffe went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Wolverines. The win was credited to 18-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Ospina in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jim Unknown took the loss. Picking up the save was 20-year old left-handed pitcher Bobby Villasenor.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Paul Adam had a game-changing hit. The Wolverines designated hitter slammed a 2-run single off Jim Unknown, making the score 8-5, Riverside.

"They had a good approach," Corpus Christi skipper Cory Schreck said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."

The Texans fall to 7-14.
