The Haviland Thrashers claimed a close win over the Crystal Lake Killers, due in large part to Bert Juarez. The Haviland left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Picking up the save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Edgar Ambrosio. The defeat makes Crystal Lake 8-12.

The Thrashers got an important contribution from third baseman Yuri Appels, who in the bottom of the second punched a first pitch fastball to right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Thrashers ahead, 1-0.

"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Appels said.
