Texans Mow Down Thrashers, 9-0

The home crowd had a good time watching the Haviland Thrashers and Corpus Christi Texans get after it.
Corpus Christi catcher Brian Maughan made his presence felt in the 9-0 Texans triumph over the Haviland Thrashers. Maughan went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jim Unknown, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. Jim Unknown collected save number 1.
Bryan Ryan cracked a home run off Tony Martinez in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run blast put the Texans on top, 2-0. In all, Ryan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We took it on the chin tonight," said losing manager Bill Mason.
The Texans, now 7-13, have not found much traction so far in 2023.
