Kern Impresses as Earthquakes Knock Off Imperials, 3-2
In a low-scoring affair between the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes and the Chuluota Imperials, pitcher Nick Kern was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ft. Wayne right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Earthquakes win. Now 16-3, the 2023 Earthquakes have been sensational so far.

Kern was in the zone all game. He frustrated Chuluota hitters while giving the Earthquakes 8.2 innings of quality work. Kern threw 109 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 8 punchouts.

Kern called the win "a pick-me-upper."
