The Corpus Christi Texans picked up a win at Field of the Sunchasers, knocking off the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jim Unknown played a key role in the triumph. Jim Unknown earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Corpus Christi goes to 9-10.
John Capen came through with a big-time hit for Corpus Christi. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
After the game, Corpus Christi manager Cory Schreck applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
