Haviland Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Haviland Thrashers took Riverside pitcher Eric Zane's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Haviland. The final score had Haviland getting past the Wolverines, 5-4. Zane went 8.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 8. The win was credited to 19-year old right-handed pitcher Kevin Irons in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jake Fish took the loss. The win puts Haviland at 9-6.

Haviland got a game-changing hit from Pat Whiting. The third baseman blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"This game tested our mettle," said Whiting.
