Wolverines 3B Kelly hits 2 home runs in Win
|
The Riverside Wolverines dealt the Tulsa Captains a 6-5 loss at Captains Ballpark. Josh Kelly was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Ken Hicks, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1. Antonino Sauli collected his 3rd save.
Early in the game, second baseman Paul Adam had a 2-run home run for Riverside. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Wolverines on top, 4-3.
"Winning a ballgame these days," losing manager Jordan Nolasco told reporters, "is harder than big game hunting without a gun."
