Thrashers Beat Flight, 6-1

Chris Schreurs was terrific for the Haviland Thrashers in his team's 6-1 triumph over the San Bernardino Flight. His performance earned Schreurs rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Schreurs, now 3-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The Thrashers, now 14-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Thrashers got a big at-bat from catcher Evan McCulley. For the game, McCulley was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Haviland a 1-0 lead.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Haviland manager Matt Conners.
