8 Straight Wins for Earthquakes
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Ft. Wayne Earthquakes.
Ft. Wayne pitcher Matt Schapp had a large part in his team subduing the Buckeye Local Panthers, 5-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Schapp, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from left fielder Josh Botello. For the game, Botello was 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Ft. Wayne a 1-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Ft. Wayne skipper Du-sung Moon.
At 12-2, the 2021 Earthquakes have been excellent so far.
