Sunchasers Upend Wolverines, 4-0
|
Sunrise Manor pitcher Estevan Rios had a large part in his team beating the Riverside Wolverines, 4-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Rios got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 1 hit and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Gabe Thomas recorded the save, his 3rd.
Sunrise Manor used a clutch at-bat from Andre Howard to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Sunchasers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a humdinger.
"Makes our job easier," said Howard, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
Riverside is now 7-7.
