Imperials Win at Home, 7-0

Haviland got a big-time effort from pitcher Russ Burleson, but it wasn't enough to keep the Chuluota Imperials from winning the game, 7-0. Burleson threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Namito Eda picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Russ Burleson was tagged with the loss. Ikuro Wada closed it out for Chuluota, earning his 1st save.
The Imperials got a big hit from center fielder Isaias Encinias. Facing Haviland pitcher Ricky Vasquez in the bottom of the eighth, Encinias pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Imperials ahead, 7-0.
Said losing manager Bill Mason: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
The win brings the Imperials to 2-9, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
