The Buckeye Local Panthers beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 6-5, at Field of the Sunchasers. Dennis Gardner went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The 21-year old first baseman was a menace to Sunrise Manor all day. The save went to Mike Corrales, number 2 for him. With their winning streak at 4, the Panthers have raced to a strong start this season.
Buckeye Local second baseman Matt Crook landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the fourth. It was his 3rd home run of the season. With it, the Panthers took a 6-1 lead.
"If it's down the middle," said Gardner, "you might as well hit it."
