There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the San Bernardino Flight and the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers.

The San Bernardino Flight used a top-flight performance from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Eugene Ricci to beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 2-1, in 11 innings. San Bernardino reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, while Gabe Thomas took the loss for Sunrise Manor.

Joseph Kovacs came through with a big-time hit for San Bernardino. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Ricci. "Successful pitchers do it."

San Bernardino sits at 3-5 in the early going.
