Ferland, Griffins Too Much for Wolverines
|
The San Antonio Griffins dealt the Riverside Wolverines a 5-3 loss at Griffins Field. Jared Ferland was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Jim Unknown got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 8.2 innings. The Griffins raised their record to 4-1.
San Antonio took a 5-1 lead on Ferland's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Wu-sheng Su in the bottom of the seventh, propelled San Antonio to the win.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Ferland told a local reporter after the game.
