Picture Rocks Raptors starter Jim Unknown turned in an exceptional performance against the Riverside Wolverines at Ballpark of Picture Rocks, resulting in a Picture Rocks win, 4-0. Picture Rocks reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ken Hicks absorbed the loss. With the win, Picture Rocks is 1-1.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Julio Font came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Riverside pitcher Ken Hicks, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Picture Rocks on top, 1-0.
In postgame comments to the Picture Rocks Chronicle, Font said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
