Riverside right-hander Jose Torres pitched his team to victory over the San Bernardino Flight at Wolverines Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. Melvin Flores notched his 1st save of the season. The win gives Riverside a record of 1-1.

Joaquin Gomez had a big 2-run home run for the Wolverines in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Riverside trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Nate Walls and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wolverines on top, 2-1.
