Sled Dogs Deal San Antonio 4-3 Defeat
Chris Byrd propelled his team to victory over the San Antonio Griffins. The final score was 4-3, Juneau. The win was credited to 19-year old left-handed pitcher Manny Martinez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Roberto Mendoza took the loss. Lorenzo Guerrero collected his 1st save.

Juneau took a 4-3 lead on Chris Norwood's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Norwood hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Antonio pitcher Roberto Mendoza visibly frustrated.

"We ground out the win," said Byrd. "That's all that matters."

The Sled Dogs, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
