Flight Earn 4-1 Road Win Over Riverside
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Riverside Wolverines home opener. Jake Fish started for the home team against Marco Zandbergen for the San Bernardino Flight. The Wolverines were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-1, San Bernardino. Marco Zandbergen, though, was impressive. Harry Bowman picked up his 1st save of the season.
San Bernardino used a clutch at-bat from Steve Combee to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Flight ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Combee. "And not try to do too much."
