Earthquakes Cut Down Flight, 4-1
|
Miguel Guzman was terrific for the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes in his team's 4-1 triumph over the San Bernardino Flight. His performance earned Guzman rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Guzman, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Ray LeCain got credit for the save for Ft. Wayne. It was his 1st of the year.
Ft. Wayne used the hitting of Leon Santos to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Earthquakes on top, 4-0. For the game, Santos had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Glad to get this win," said Santos. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
San Bernardino now has a record of 3-1.
