Thrashers Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Haviland Thrashers turned back the Crystal Lake Killers, 3-2, at Ballpark of Haviland. Austin Peterson, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Jim Unknown earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0.
Jim Graves was the walk-off hero for Haviland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thrashers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I like our moxie," said Thrashers manager .
The win puts Haviland at 3-0.
