Fans of the Haviland Thrashers who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Haviland win over the visiting Crystal Lake Killers, 6-5. Jamie Stuhr started for the home team against Lupe Correa. Scott Kay earned accolades for his performance. Edgar Ambrosio picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Brian Kyzar was tagged with the loss.

Curtis Still delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 12th to win it for the Thrashers. For the game, Still went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.

"The crowd was raucous," said Still.
