Montreal Win Evens Series at 1
The Montreal Royals knotted up the Division Series at Hedgehogs Park, thanks in large part to second baseman Mitch Jensen. Jensen was 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once as he overpowered the Fremont Marshalls, enabling Montreal to grab the 10-1 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Montreal won the game in part because of Takenori Murayama. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Royals ahead, 1-0. For the game, Murayama had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Matt Blade.

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Turtles Ballpark in Montreal.
