Tigers Hammered by Owens, Drop Game 3 to Capitols
|
The Augusta Capitols have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading London Tigers, winning, 6-4, at Ballpark of Oklahoma City. Capitols designated hitter Nick Owens went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Capitols to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Division Series.
With the game tied, 4-4, in the top of the seventh, Owens had a key at-bat for Augusta. With a runner on 1st, Owens hit a run-scoring double off Jon Agans, making the score 5-4, Capitols.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Owens crowed after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Oklahoma City in London.
