Wichita Draws First Blood in World Series With 7-4 Win
The Wichita Panthers started the World Series in style, winning on the road against the Medford Desperados at Ballpark of Medford by a score of 7-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Panthers first baseman Mikkel Goldbaek excelled. He went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times.

Wichita used the timely hitting of Chris Hillis to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Panthers on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Goldbaek.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Medford in Medford.
