Bats Hammered by Shafer, Drop Game 2 to Mounties
The Moncton Mounties defeated the Whitby Bats, 10-8, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was left fielder Danny Shafer, who was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win moves Moncton into a 1-1 tie with Whitby in the series.

Moncton took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Aaron Nelson hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Mounties.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Nelson.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Eláguila Stadia in Whitby.
