Win Makes Super Troopers 82-36
|
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers grabbed a win, 4-3, over the Savannah Alpines at Alpines Stadium. Santa Barbara third baseman Chris Fitch hit 2 home runs. Steve Albrecht picked up the save, his 27th. At 82-36, Santa Barbara is in first place in the Sub League 2 Central Division.
Santa Barbara used the hitting of Dave De Jong to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Super Troopers on top, 4-1. For the game, De Jong had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Santa Barbara manager Jimmy Jacobs.
