|
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers withstood a fine game by Newport News left fielder Joe Bronson at Wranglers Stadium, to upend the Wranglers, 7-6. Bronson was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The save was credited to Mike Williams, his 4th. Santa Barbara is 109-31 and Newport News, with the loss, 68-72.
Matt Shea helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Super Troopers.
