Riding the 3-hit performance of the 21-year old left fielder Ian Schelling, the Newport News Wranglers stopped the South Pasadena Air Riders, 9-2. The Wranglers go to 63-54, putting them second in the Sub League 2 East Division.

Schelling made an early impact for Newport News when he stroked his 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Wranglers on top, 4-0.

Said losing manager Nate West: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
