Gruber Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Wichita Panthers left fielder Rick Gruber, but a tough one for the team, as the Panthers dropped the contest, 14-9, to the Niskayuna Fighting Knights.

Even with the loss, Gruber was pure misery for the Niskayuna pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-6 in an explosive display of hitting.

"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Gruber, who is the 22-year old left fielder .

"Gruber really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Fighting Knights manager Jonathan Anderson told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Rick Gruber singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Gruber is currently hitting at a .358 pace with 33 home runs and 112 RBIs.
