Thrilling Victory Pushes Cyclones Win Streak to 5
Ontario right fielder Matt Strader was sensational. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Mt. Vernon beat the Sunrays, 6-5. Mt. Vernon reliever Mike Driskell was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Kevin Kerns. Mt. Vernon has rattled off 5 straight wins.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 5-5, 20-year old first baseman Brad Reynolds won it for Mt. Vernon. With a runner on 2nd, Reynolds hit a 1-0 fastball from Harrison Tatta for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Reynolds.
