Ontario wasted a solid 5-inning effort from starting pitcher Chris Eklund, losing to Mt. Vernon, 2-1, at Mt. Vernon Grounds. Jonathan Bencosme picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-0. Angel Silva was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was 18-year old left-handed pitcher Aaron Trede.

Mt. Vernon went up, 2-1, on Josh Taylor's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Taylor hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Ontario pitcher Angel Silva muttering to himself.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Taylor. "Those qualities define our team."

The 4th-place Cyclones now have a win-loss record of 70-70.
