The Mt. Vernon Cyclones picked up a win at Mt. Vernon Grounds, knocking off the Ontario Sunrays, 8-2. On the mound for Mt. Vernon was left-hander Bert Juarez. He played a key role in the triumph. Juarez, now 3-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The Cyclones now have a record of 69-69 with the win over Ontario.

Mt. Vernon took the lead, 3-2, on Johane Remdios's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Ontario pitcher Mike McQueen in the bottom of the seventh.
