Ontario Sends Newport News Packing with 4-1 Loss
|
Sebastian Lopez was locked and loaded, helping the Ontario Sunrays beat the Newport News Wranglers, 4-1. Brock Richardson nailed down his 13th save. Ontario is third in the Sub League 2 Central Division with a record of 61-65.
Jeremy Cole had a big 3-run home run for the Sunrays in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Ontario leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Yee Wang and swatted a home run to right. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sunrays ahead, 4-0.
"When Sebastian is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Ontario manager Sam Story.
